Just to explain the thread opening/closing procedure since Kim queried - basically once a thread is at 300 posts we open a new one. Hence why around 280-290 posts we start talking about what to entitle the next thread and sometimes about who wants to open it. Anyone can open the new thread. The new thread is opened, the link to it is left at the end of the old thread by the opener, and then when a moderator is online the old thread is officially closed - but even if it hasn't been officially closed yet, you post in the new thread.
Does that make sense... its been a long day
