i think its safe to say that "David" has exited Amy's life as has the many suitors before him since there is no mention of him for the last two episodes of the season and they DID say their 'goodbyes' ("we gave it a good try" or something to that effect). The ep where Lauren almost didnt go to her dance because she thought it would be difficult for Amy to go since David was going emphasizes it even more.
Adrian Pasdar is a handsome guy and he's fun to watch in other projects. He was in Second Hand Lions and he made me laugh. I wish him the best in the future.
