Oh I knew instantly because I knew what character John was going to play on the show. I bet even if I didn't know I still would have figured it out. The way he played that scene was so funny and you could tell he was humoring Grace. Poor girl, she went on and on all while he was cracking up inside. That speech from Grace was the start Peter's feelings for her. She didn't care what people thought and said what she wanted to say and that really intrigued him and he admired that. That's what I think.
