I usually have some ideas and then I'll write little notes about things I want to happen or if I think of something I want a character to say I'll write it down so I won't forget it. I rarely ever dive into a story, I always need to brainstorm and sometimes I'll think of things I want to happen in future chapters before the chapter I'm actually working on will come to me
