i think they do end up together... justin certainly does... it's brian's lack of faith that leads him to believe they won't, when in time, they'd see each other again... being apart from the one you love is sad, but letting them go exceeds that sorrow imo... especially knowing they are living their dream... certainly a person would find joy in that
