Guillermo del Toro has revealed more details about his forthcoming adaptation of JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit, days after he was confirmed as the project's director.
Sir Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis look set to reprise their roles as Gandalf and Gollum.
Del Toro will soon move to New Zealand where he will direct two films back-to-back. The first one will be a straight adaptation of The Hobbit, while the second one will be an entirely original film, set between the end of The Hobbit and the beginning of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Mexican director promises that this new movie will not be a "tag-on" or a "filler".
