I feel that, a little. I think that they were never going to be the same. Why? Because even before Pacey and Joey got together, Dawson still did a lot of mean and selfish things to Pacey. Remember when he got drunk (truth serum, people) and told Pacey and he needs to remain a loser and stop being a success story so that Dawson could look better? Uh, rude much?
I just think that after time goes by, they will grow into different personalities and lives. I think they'll always be friends, but they may go in different directions.
