it's not that universities have a lack of security, it's just that there are FAR too many people and buildings and classes spread around a campus, that there can't be someone watching EVERYTHING all the time.
besides the colleges are supposed to be an open environment where you don't feel like you're being confined there.
my thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends of the victims and the whole VT community.
