Maybe Luke is watching Doula for Liz and TJ when she suddenly goes ill so he takes her to the hospital. Once there Liz and TJ arrive and Luke runs into Lorelai and the entire Richard situation. Of course, after Paul Anka and April, if that happens no one should ever let him alone with a kid or animal ever again.
