I think it's really frustrating. I also think people forget that every year since 9/11 the terror alert has been raised around the anniversary.
I think it's dumb to ban liquids on carry ons because it really doesn't matter where it's at on the plane if the terrorists want to blow up the plane they'll do it. Plus then there is the chance that the air carrier will lose your luggage so then you'll have nothing on a trip.
Driving seems to be the best way to go for now.
