^ because up until that point we hadnt really seen lucas give anything towards peyton. i mean, we knew that peyton loved lucas this whole time.. but lucas has always been with brooke.
even tho hes saved her, hes never really said anything nice like that. its funny that he told peyton she looked nice, but didnt say anythig to brooke. hes always said to peyton, "you look kind of hot."
