Also quite surprising because I always felt they were very bold to film those scenes (it felt very true to the text, that's why the inappropriate nature didn't really occur to me because I just figured it was necessary for depicting the couple's extreme feelings for each other - Shakespeare wrote it as a 13 year old's sexual awakening as we know) and the actors had always spoken highly of the filming experience in interviews and during panels. Le sigh.
But anyway they are still renowned for their rebellious duo act, I mean look at this pic:
