Like a part of me doesn't want him recast because RJP is Simon and I liked him as Simon but his absence is very noticeable and awkward. Especially since they've given Daphne more to do in s2 than the book did. And I'm sure she will also be in S3 doing more stuff than she did in the book. And if so and he continues to not be there it will just get more noticeable and awkward. Like her husband shouldn't be away all the time.
But to be fair it is probably easier for me to accept a recasting. I do like RJP as Simon but I never really got invested in him as a character or Saphne.
