It's years later and I still think one of cinema's most frightening moments is the ultimate twist, when Rachel wakes up happily next to her son assuming the danger is gone but then Aidan asks: "...You helped her? Why did you do that?"
The utter silence in everything except what he's saying is golden. The young actor who played him (David Dorfman) was perfectly cast. He knew how to balance creepiness with innocence. Aidan is a character who appears to know so much but is also as much a victim as everyone else who watches the tape.
