I think season 2 could and should be a new group playing the games. And we wont see the main guy until maybe half way through when he tries to infiltrate the games. Maybe he is back as a blue guard instead and we wont find that reveal until later on?
I also hope the cop is not dead. I know he fell off the cliff but he could have survived potentially. I dont think his SL with his brother is over.

I agree with this, I hope it's a new group with some new games, and we see Gi-Hun appear after a few episodes to infiltrate. And I also think it is possible the police guy survived, remember the other character whose death we didn't see fully?
