Lee Chaerin (born on February 26, 1991), better known by her stage name CL, is a South Korean singer-songwriter
and rapper. Born in Seoul, South Korea, she spent much of her early life in Japan and France. CL trained at JYP
Entertainment before joining YG Entertainment at the age of 15 and debuted as the leader of the girl group 2NE1
in 2009. Following her group taking a break, CL embarked her solo career in the United States in 2015. In 2016,
2NE1 officially disbanded and she remained a solo act under YG until her contract expired in November 2019.
