It's not the best idea they came up with but I can buy it. No one saw him take out the boats. They all voiced their surprise to find it gone when they stopped by. And if he's handy, I can see where he would repair whatever type of hole he created to take it out. This time he went totally bonkers with a massive hole.
Is it totally believable probably nope. But given the structure of the house, and 19 years of mystery. They did not have much else except a fake wall.
Although it was in a neighborhood, so would not the neighbors not notice. Although Torres said he had figured it out before he joined the team. Maybe others did too, and kept the guessing game going.
