I never usually watch the Chris scenes in these early episodes, but I actuslly made myself watch them on my last watch and I forgot how much of an ass he was to Lorelai over the Gigi/Sherry thing. It was his usual man-child, whiny, sulky way and then Lorelai has to coddle him to make him feel better, then he eventually turns his mood around. It just comes off as his manipulative ways to me, like he knows Lorelai will coddle him if he keeps his pouting up and it's exactly what happened.
