I won't be watching the show -- unless it disavows the events of season 8 as a delusion of some kind. An acknowledgment from T7S and T9S's creators during press for T9S that S8 was mishandled and a mistake would go a long way, as would an apology for it, quite frankly.
I highly doubt any of those things will happen (but one never knows). If they don't, without an explicit disavowal of S8 on the show (which can be done in subtle yet significant ways) and its creators, then T9S will continue from the canon-divergent S8. Silence about S8 will be as much confirmation as references to S8 that T9S treats S8 canon.
And if it does, then T9S isn't canon as far as I'm concerned. Which is a shame because I'd love to enjoy more Red and Kitty onscreen -- if they're written according to their S1-S4 characterization and not what they'd devolved into during the second half of T7S.
