Their first ILY was done so well . They haven't been together that long, but in Nick's mind I'm sure he wanted to say it to George in case they wouldn't get another chance to. And I also understand why George wasn't ready to say it back and that Nick understood that and wasn't looking for her to reciprocate. It was just beautifully done and on point for their characters.

And Nick saying he wants them to beat the Algeaca so they can have a real shot .
