Sean Murray - who is best known for playing Agent McGee for the past 18 years - was born on November 15, 1977 in Bethesda, Maryland, USA as Sean Harland Murray. He is one day younger co-worker, and good friend Brian Dietzen, who plays Jimmy Palmer in NCIS. He is an actor, known for Hocus Pocus (1993), Harts of the West (1993) and NCIS (2003).
His first small roles were in 1991, when he was just 14 years old. However, it wasn't until Hocus Pocus in 1993, that he was recognized for his talents and nominated for the Best Youth Actor Leading Role in a Motion Picture Comedy at the Young Artist Award. Within the movie he played Thackery Binx, however, his voice was dubbed by Jason Marsden.
He had many small roles before being cast to play Zane Grey Hart in 5 episodes of the one-season long series called Harts of the West in 1994. During the series' short life Beau Bridges was his father and Harley Jane Kozak his mother. He even
shared screen time with Mark Harmon, 20 years prior to becoming Agent McGee in NCIS. Before becoming McGee, he starred in many episode roles and TV movies. He also appeared in various - 7 - JAG episodes, playing two different characters.
Not much is known about his early childhood; he has an older brother Chad W. Murray, and spent part of his teenage years in California. Their mother, Vivienne has married the producer, Donald P. Bellisario in 1998, when Sean was already 21 years old. Through this marriage he gained several stepsiblings: Troian Bellisario - his NCIS onscreen sister as well -, Nicholas Bellisario, Michael Bellisario, Julie B. Watson, and David Bellisario.
He has been married to Carrie James since November 26, 2005. They have two children - a daughter, Caitlyn Melissa Murray (b. May 3, 2007) & a son, River James Murray (b. April 22, 2010).
