I don't think there will be a writers's strike anytime soon. Everyone has lost money and jobs, and who knows the working conditions, and the ability to work on even established shows for awhile. Neither side has a lot of leverage, because the nature of the shows have changed and everything for awhile has to sort it out.

Before, there was a huge chance due to the advances of streaming, and writers had a lot to bargain from. Now, with jobs all over the place, and not all that guaranteed at the moment. It's going to take awhile to figure it all out.

The last one, strictly because how it was timed. In the middle of the season. It changed a lot of shows. Messed up story lines. Some like Big Bang Theory got a a new life because of it. Fans hadn't really it. Reruns had to air, and fans found it, and they went back and worked on the stories, and the show blossomed. Or like Bones, their third season storyline got mangled due to loss of episodes. Because by the time it came, back, they only wanted to air a certain amount of episodes, and didn't have time to do the story line they had set out justice.. But tacked on some for the next season. So the following seasons, shows like Bones and Grey's Anatomy had big episode counts.

Roswell New Mexico will be in a trick situation because it's a soap. It's not going to be easy to navigate. But they probably can delay shooting compared to some other shows who will want to get their shows ready for January.

The good thing is that RNM can't be compared to our shows except for they share a few similar characters, others have been changed, So, it leaves our show in a different world. So, Roswell NM exists in it's own way, and has some fun points, but yeah, some of the creativity is lacking.
