Someone else could probably better answer this, but I remember Prospect Park suing ABC because GH was using OLTL characters, which messed up the Hulu version of that show, and forced GH to remove the characters. I'm not sure how AMC played a role.
I watched the online version at the time. This was really like a year or two before streaming and netflix really took off and became the norm. If AMC lasted a few more years, the transition to online would've been smoother, but this was back in the early stages where online platforms were new.
