I really like the title of the new thread.

I saw this article on MTV's website about the concept for the new video. It looks like Kelly is getting in touch with a more mature and darker side of herself in this video. I honestly think this could be her best so far. The premise is excellent. Good for Kelly shedding her girl-next-door image.

I cannot express how much I am loving the sound of this video. It is such a step forward if you ask me, and away from the cheesiness of AI.

I honestly think this could be her best so far.

I could not agree with you more! A deeper album, with deeper more mature songs...and a video that fits that theme perfectly! Thanks for posting!

Australia was listed somewhere as getting the album. This will be released where you are I'm sure. Australia and Canada are the two countries aside from the US where Kelly is most popular (Breakaway was high on the charts in australia a few weeks ago)

Um...I didn't get that vibe, but that's funny. LOL I definitely got the "You took my man you beyotch!" vibe. I love how it says she flushes down the birth control pills. "Well there! No pills...no fun for you tonight!" LOL

Kelly Clarkson's 'Been Gone'

Say bye-bye to KELLY CLARKSON's R&B persona. In her new video, "Since You've Been Gone," the "American Idol" channels a rock 'n' roll bad-girl, complete with black leather and chains.

On tonight's ET, we're exclusively on the set of the L.A. club where director ALEX De RAKOFF puts the talented songstress through the paces of her new look and her new sound.

"It's a little more rock than last time, but still has a lot of soul," she commented about the album in a message on her Web site.

"Since You've Been Gone," is the first single from Kelly's Breakaway CD, being released on RCA Records, Tuesday, Nov. 30 -- just in time for fans to buy the album as a stocking stuffer for the holidays. Kelly will also perform the song that night on "The Tonight Show starring Jay Leno."

Of course, "Breakaway," written by AVRIL LAVIGNE and MATTHEW GERRARD, was the title song recorded by Kelly for the motion picture, 'Princess Diaries 2,' and she liked it so much, she borrowed it for her follow-up album to Thankful.

Also coming up, the Texas tornado, RUBEN STUDDARD and FANTASIA will perform classic holiday songs on a one-hour Christmas special, "Kelly, Ruben & Fantasia: Home for Christmas," airing Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 9 p.m. on FOX.

For more on Kelly's new video, tune in to tonight's ET. And don't forget, the fourth season of "American Idol" kicks off in January 2005 on FOX.
