I'm with you on that. CE breaking up won't guarantee JRE at all. The writers were set on erasing the JRE relationship completely. The closest thing we got was when John Ross told Elena that she broke his heart. If someone were watching Season 2 for the first time they wouldn't have known JRE had been together at all. I hate when writers try to erase things completely. It feels so unnatural. Right now I just want Elena to be Christopher free and kind of do her own thing. I still don't think JRE got any closure so maybe sometime in the future we'll get something.

So true. That is one of the reasons why most people stopped investing interest in them and jumped ship, for example to PR/JR because they are the popular couple now.
