Yeah, Harry having to "see" all these memories too was heartbreaking. He didn't know that Snape loved his mother all of this time and that realization hit him when it was too late.

But that made it more poetic when we found out everything. That he wasn't a bad guy and was just misunderstood. It teaches us to not judge people. I love it.

He's loyal to Lily and to Dumbledore. He's very misunderstood and I really hated the way he died in DH.

I agree, now that I've watched all the movies I understand his character a bit in that he's not evil at all. Maybe a bit misguided....
