James knows that Spike's happy ending has to include Buffy.

It also makes me happy he wanted Spuffy from the start & played Spike's attraction to Buffy always.

Joss wrote plenty of subtext though.

SMG played Buffy attracted to Spike too.

I was googling Spuffy & came to comments from a Bangel on a forum saying that Buffy even wanting Spike was OOC.

I don't know what show they watched.

Spuffy was always there in the background somehow.

I always go back to how both reacted to each other their first fight.

Both acted like they wanted to frack not fight. Both SMG & Joss said that fighting was foreplay.



There is the fact that Spike didn't get uninvited to Buffy's house until she found out about his feelings for her.

Buffy was so scared of what he felt & what deep down she felt too.

Just shows that Buffy even when she thought of him as her enemy that she trusted Spike.

So from the end of Season 2 to Crush Spike could get in her house.

LW in Season 3 shows Spike in the house before Joyce knows he is there.

Then later Buffy shows more trust in Spike than she ever did anyone else.

She always counted on him to protect Dawn & the gang.

Even after Seeing Red Buffy still wanted Spike to protect Dawn & was sad he had left.

That speaks volumes.

Trust is so important with love.

It's part of what made Spuffy's love/connection so strong & stronger than any of either other relationships.

I feel like I'm rediscovering my love for this couple lately with all the fanfic I've been reading.

There are so many ways that Spuffy could have happened.

I'm just so glad that there is so much fic to explore them.

There is no other couple that captivates me as much as Spuffy.

I ship a lot of couples. Nothing is better than Spuffy fanfic.

I think that's partly b/c the fandom has such amazing authors but the char. in gen. are iconic & to me the best ever!

I truly think that Spike/Buffy are the ultimate love story of the Buffyverse.

From Season 2 to 7 their dynamic & growth they went through was so natural & don't think is something we will ever see on TV again.

The unintentional buildup is incredible.

Just the fact that nothing really was planned for Spuffy until Season 5 on but to look at the show it's like they were slowly finding their way to each other.

SMG/JM together in general is perfect too. If anyone was ever made to act together IMO it's them.

Joss said it best when he said that they are more on each other level & their vulnerabilities come out. That you can feel the history between them.

Joss even said that Spike/Buffy have more history than Buffy/Angel do as well.

I feel like Joss even thinks Spuffy win over Bangel in every way.

To me, anyone who doesn’t see this is blind. People might say that Angel taming Buffy’s virginity is when she became a woman. I think that first moment in the hall at school with spike, seeing him run his hand down his chest is the first time she ever truly felt like a woman.

Probably shouldn’t be but the underlying chemistry is something that hasn’t been duplicated that many times on Tv since IMO.

So agree about the first time Spuffy fought & Buffy being a woman for first time too moment.

I don't know if that's just the way SMG played it or what? Buffy never acted like that fighting anyone else ever!

It was only Spike. The gifs above again Buffy is strong & confident in a way we only saw with Spike. The way they say the lines it's so obvious flirty now to me just like their first fight.

The chemistry with SMG/JM just leaps off the screen that I can't believe I didn't think of Spuffy together as a couple the first time around.

I can't believe it took Something Blue to see them romantically for me.

This vid isn't new. It actually shows the flirty part of their first fight at the start.

The body language just screams frack me not fight me.



Buffy's line about how it's gonna hurt a lot is prob. the most prophetic line in history of the Buffyverse.

I'm sure there are lots more lines that seem prophetic but really is there one that just makes you go if you only knew the future Spike/Buffy?
