Variety Article

From Variety - 9 Nov 2004

Quote:
The WB enjoyed another robust Tuesday, winning among femmes 12-34 (4.9/13) thanks to season highs from "Gilmore Girls" (2.7/7, 6.13m) and another good outing by "One Tree Hill" (2.1/5, 4.54m). "Gilmore" was television's top show Tuesday night in females 12-34 (5.2/14) and was No. 2 for its 8 o'clock hour (behind CBS) in adults 18-34 (3.5/10).
The entire article is here.

A new promo, courtesy of Fraz.

Argh, stupid, go away Dean! He's sleezy, yet again. Stop staring at Rory's breasts! No wonder Rory looks so uncomfortable, her neck positioned as though ready to go into convulsions.

Rory: Help, mom! Save me from this thing next to me!

ilovetheshins thanks for bringing the large one across

I was waiting for the large one to come out.

*Nadine goes to change her desktop, but wishes it was the larger version of the small billboard instead*

Lorelai: Just keep smiling honey and slowly move away from Dean.

Thanks, Ilovetheshins

Sounds pretty sarcastic to me. But gotta be careful joking like that to "soap opera weekly." For most of the shows they cover that's a weekly occurence.

Maybe Alexis can have a walkout and refuse to show up until Amy agrees to have her boyfriends's character killed in a tragic accident after Logan lands his daddy's Leer jet on top of a Walmart?

However he's better off corrupting Meg Pryor on American Dreams than being anywhere near Star's Hollow. At least until NBC notices the ratings.

Interesting that the WB is making up those billboards with both Dean and Logan. Please... no more love triangles. I'm okay with Rory's affair with Dean being a roadblock with Logan, but, man... Rory needs to wake up and take responsibility of her romantic life instead of always being passively drawn into relationships.

Very true. They can quote anything (or do a crazy cut-and-paste job, like some campaigns have been notoriously doing) out of context.

More ratings news. These have been the headlines, how Rebel Billionaire was beaten "by even the WB's Gilmore Girls." I think that's kind of funny. We all know the WB is not going to rank above the big 4 and Fox, but "even..."

Branson's show drew an average of 4.85 million viewers in the 8 p.m. hour, putting it fifth place behind the other major networks and "The Gilmore Girls" on WB.

There's an article on Salon today about how TV teens have changed over the last twenty years today, and the writer mentions Lane talking about Zach to Rory, along with Luke and Lorelai's relationship in a negative light. A little interesting, but the writer uses alot of filler to state the obvious; that girls, even on TV have changed since the days of Square Pegs and Eight is Enough. Really? I did not know that (that's another gesture she criticizes).

Mm. I didn't like that article. I feel like it is talking down to teens. It bugged me.
