Nice! Weather is getting better in the Netherlands too.

Jen, cool that you are thinking about a trip to Europe. If I had the choice I'd visit other countries instead of the Netherlands, but hey, I live here, so I think probably everyone thinks that about the place they live

Happy weekend everyone!

The wind was a little too gusty yesterday but today is perfect! Sunny, dry, 78°F! I wish I wasn't working and could actually enjoy the beautiful weather outside. :pout:

Ingmar - Aww, what's so bad about Holland? Amsterdam looks like a pretty cool city to visit.

The Quidditch national championship tournament was this weekend right down the road from me! I didn't even know this was a thing? It's crazy to see it being played!

There's nothing wrong with the Netherlands. In fact it's a pretty stable country to live in. Good health care, etc. It's just a bit boring, because I really love beatiful nature/cities and to me Dutch cities are just average. Partly because I have lived here my entire life ofcourse. I bet someone living in Australia would say the same about Australia, even tho I'd love to live there. I'm sure you will love the Netherlands!

I think that's because our country is so small, we've seen everything there is here probably more than once, so its nothing really new anymore.:)
That's why traveling is so much fun, but I'm always glad to be back home in my small country town..

It's snowed this week and is supposed to snow tomorrow. Longest winter ever!

**Anja** 04-19-2018 02:38 AM

Yikes, that sucks!

I'd like for that to happen here. Not a fan of the long days and the summer. Trade? :D

Lindsay 04-20-2018 09:06 AM

Sure! I wouldn't mind never seeing snow again.

Woohoo, we booked a trip to London a few days ago. We're going for 6 nights; at the end of this month. It's been 4 years since our last visit and we got a way better camera (and skills) time time around, so we were dying to see the city again.

How is everyone else?

Talula78 05-02-2018 12:48 PM

Man, I could easily book a trip this September for cheap! I managed to find a round trip ticket from Austin to London for around $300 something! The whole trip, flight costs to Amsterdam or Frankfurt included, would cost around $700 which is so tempting. I had to resist the temptation, though, because Kathrin's visiting me plus my parents are going on their anniversary trip to the Grand Canyon at that time so I have to stay home and take care of our ponies and kitties. Oh well. I can only hope that I can get a similar deal next year!

Wow, congrats on your London trip, Ingmar! I'm so jealous. I'm dying to go to London and spend a good amount of time there. Looking forward to seeing your new fancy pix!

That's awesome, Ingmar!

Oh wow, Jen. That's really cheap!

Wow, that is cheap. Too bad you can’t go for it. Hopefully you can get a deal like that next year.

**Anja** 05-03-2018 03:30 AM

Fingers crossed for next year, Jen, that sounds like an amazing deal! :)
Yay for going to London again, Ingmar. I always love that city, it won't ever go boring.. Any plans for seeing something you haven't?

Talula78 05-03-2018 09:35 AM

Ugh, I wish I had more time off at my job. :pout: I was putting everything I'd like to get done or see down on paper and I honestly think it's too much. I only have 2 1/2 weeks to work with so that's making it difficult. First things first, though, I need to get my passport. Once that's done these trips will feel more real.

If you only have 2 1/2 weeks for the trip I'm sure the Europeans here could give you some advice about the cities worth visiting. Can definately recommend London and Rome. You also want a few days in the Netherlands (iirc), so I'd only add one more destination to that trip (4 cities in 2 1/2 weeks is kinda nice I guess?).

We're so lucky that we live where we live; we can never complain about our vacation days. Wish you had the same amount!

@Anja: no plans to see things we haven't before, but when we're in the city we always discover new things, so :) maybe we'll do a day trip to Oxford, or something!
