I agree they do seem pointless to the rest of the storyline in the episode and even the bigger story? It just continues to put a wedge between Mel and her sisters.

yeah its all to show how the Elders are keeping things from them & properly train Mel in magic. But otherwise it just takes away... or maybe I just like the other scenes better
They also needed Mel's power to grow so she could age the potion

I like how Macy & Harry kill the Devil

I see the connection to the bigger storyline more now. It still is weird but I am not the biggest fan of how they do the multiple stories within one episode.

They end this episode well.

They tie it together well at the end and give good foreshadowing/cliffhangers. But I will agree that the plotline of this episode is a little rigid in terms of going back and forth.

Episode Synopsis:
