As many nations condemn apartheid in South Africa, tensions mounts between Thatcher and Elizabeth about their clashing opinions on applying sanctions.

OMG CLAIRE FOY!!!

So this ep was all about QE vs. Thatcher. It was interesting seeing them with differing views and damn that scene where Thatcher had to go see QE (the build-up to it) was amazing. I was tense. They're both very strong and determined women so it was glorious to see them both spar.

Was that the Queen's Press Secretary that got sacked? I felt for him after helping out with the Queen to get Thatcher to agree on that letter.

Also we see a glimpse of Sarah Ferguson in this ep. Andrew is proud of her. I laughed at the scene where it was Andrew's wedding day and this conversation:

Charles (to Andrew): You're 4th in line now and by the time William's had children, his children would have had children. Fringe.
Andrew: Did he really just say that? On my wedding day?
Edward: That was impressively cunty.

Good to see her back.

I didn't know about Thatcher opposing sanctions on South Africa, or about her conflict with QE. This was all very interesting. I liked how it said at the end that it did have an effect.

Yes I felt for him, he was the sacrifice.

Yes it was good to see the wedding build up.

That was really sad. I understand why they have to sack him but still.

I wonder if we'll get more of all the Andrew & Sarah drama for S5/S6? I mean if they're gonna cast them already, we'll probably get them in small doses for the last 2 seasons?

Nice to know he had a successful writing career, though.

I assume we will, as that was all tied up in a way, that all the marriages started falling apart at the same time.

Yeah at least he did have a successful career afterwards.

I'm not fully aware of the whole Andrew/Sarah drama but they were definitely the next Charles/Diana the way the press were all over them too.

It was disheartening to see the way those marriages fell apart.

The Press really don't help, look at Meghan and Harry, they had to leave completely to avoid the nasty Press stories they were getting here.

Exactly. Harry & Meghan were the next thing the press are going to hound endlessly. I do think the media has a lot to do with how these marriages fell apart. They're not entirely to blame of course but they are partly to blame.

It sickens me how the press hounds them, and get away with it.

When there was a backlash from the public against the press after Diana's death, they turned the anger around off themselves and onto the Royal family. They never face the consequences of their actions. They were so awful to Meghan it was criminal.

Yeah some of the tabloids are really brutal. The Daily Fail (as what I call them) is a good example. So is The Sun.
