YES EXACTLY! I love fics where Derek is really skeptical of Alison and then realizes how messed up she is by her family as well, and they bond and be badass together.

Yeah, when he showed the sass, he was a little more "himself." He tries to hide his everything, but the sass is just Derek. Sometimes it seeps through the pain.
