the closest team for the americans to support are the west indies (aka the Caribbean)

Its understandable why the Americans dont understand cricket as theres already baseball

I think it will start to get more popular over there though, with the rise of T20 & if they do make it an olympic sport...

as a reference point the former wicketkeeper (catcher for the Americans ) Matt Prior is a dead set ringer for actor Jason Statham (the guy from Transporter)

It's been a while I've been on this thread.
Great game against Sri Lanka.
82 for 6 chasing 289 or something like that - England dead and buried yet they manage to tie the game with a last ball six - what a game!! Well played Buttler, Woakes and Plunkett

It was a very exciting finish! I didn't think Plunkett would be able to do it but he did! Good start to the ODI series, next match tomorrow

Not to tempt fate, but I'm feeling an England win today...

the funny thing is the English Cricket team has had the most trouble with the fifty over format of the game, its too long to be a "bash and crash" of twenty20, and its not long enough to be a test match

The people who make the rules of cricket have been finding it hard to get the right balance for the format too

I think we used to approach limited overs cricket in completely the wrong way, having Andrew Strauss becoming director of cricket has helped that so much & he's definitely stuck to what he'd said he'd do. We've completely changed our gameplan, the types of players we have & mentality - I think a lot of that is a result of having Eoin Morgan as captain too
