I'm totally team Bellamy when it comes to the Blakes right now, not even a question. But yes, definitely a topic suited better for the other thread.

There was a question on Twitter lately that said:
Do you prefer pre time jump Bellamy or post time jump Bellamy? My answer was something like, "to be fair, I love both Bellamys, I love all the Bellamys, even you Season 3 Bellamy. I just love Bellamy Blake." It was a well received comment what about you guys? __________________

I’d love to retweet the comment, Becks. Got a link to it?
I don’t even think I can answer. We still have 7 episodes of season 5 to see play out, so I have to see all those first. Right now, season 4 Bellamy is still my favorite, but I won’t rule out the possibility of that changing. I’m proud of Bellamy for being willing to really work on himself over the course of 6 years. But I don’t want more episodes like the last one where his storyline is so tied to Echo. Bellamy is a far more compelling character than she is. |

I don't think that I can answer that either, Becks, but I like post-time jump Bellamy so far though I still feel that disconnect.

Do you think you would still feel that disconnect were he not in a relationship with Echo, Sarah?

I felt the biggest disconnect from Bellamy in season 3, but that was because I wasn't on his side, whereas with season 5 Bellamy, I am on his side, I see the story from his POV. To me, he is the good guy, he's the protagonist. If you separated this season from all the others and only focused on what is happening in this season, for instance, if you imagined that this season was the first ever season I feel most people watching it with fresh eyes would see Bellamy and Spacekru as the heroes and all the other character as the obstacles/challenge to overcome. Octavia and the Eliguis group would be the opposite of that, they would be the antagonists/villains.
But because this isn't Season 1 and we have all this other information and history with these characters we don't see things for what they are now, people can't just look at Bellamy as this amazing heroic figure because of all the things that he has done in previous seasons and the fact he is dating someone who has also done questionable things in previous seasons, but honestly, if you strip all that away, they ARE the good guys right now. And I think that's difficult for people to come to terms with. I think people want to dislike Echo, and therefore Bellamy gets guilt by association. Which I don't think he deserves. Sorry, I went on a bit of a tangent, but I hope I got my point across __________________

It came across to me. I’ll respond in the new thread, which I’ll go start now.
