And for things like apartments, you can borrow props from other shows. Studios usually have a giant vault type room with tons of generic type props from other shows. It would be super easy - and cheap - to dress an apartment. Certainly more than building a cave set, or flooding that lot for oceans, or building a smartbunker or space capsule.

What I mean is that, with exception for Walter’s loft in the garage, Scorpion is choosing to not have sets for the characters’ personal homes.

I agree—homes should be there for Paige and Ralph; for Toby and Happy; for Sylvester; for Cabe. (We saw homes for Paige and Ralph in Season #01; the former home for Cabe was also in Season #01; and one for Toby in Season #02.)

This wouldn’t require much. But, I think the management of production—the sets; where to keep them; the importance of even having particular ones—plays into why we don’t tend to see the characters’ homes and are limited to seeing just Walter’s loft.

This is why I mentioned the garage being the stage for the cast of Scorpion.

When is the last time we've even seen the garage roof? Ever since the end scene in Single Point of Failure, the roof has been a special place for Walter, Paige and Ralph. It would be nice to see the three of them relaxing up there after the rest of the team has left for the evening.

We saw the roof in “Lighthouse of the Rising Sun” (S04 E14). This was the episode that Walter and his Whiz Kids, including Ralph, and they were up on the roof trying to save the flying-blind teenagers.

YES - We need the return of the telescope. I've always had a bit of headcanon that, with all the avenues open to him, Ralph ultimately decides to become an astrophysicist and study the stars. Sort of like Neil DeGrasse Tyson - but WAY smarter!

Well, it might be sort of cool if Walter could get Neil to come over and talk to Ralph about astrophysics. But most of the time, they should enjoy the roof by themselves.
