Today Riley posted that he does want to keep acting, but with covid and him being in the awkward teenager stage it's hard for him to find jobs. That makes me sad, but he seems relatively upbeat/understanding about that it's not him, it's the times.

I'm glad he's not letting the dry spell get him down - and that he understands it may be temporary. I'd love to see him in the sort of more dramatic role he can get once he gets past those teenage years.

Question of the week:

We've seen that Ralph is interested in rocketry. He's also shown interest in medicine and mathematics and even machinery. And of course, he loves Scorpion and could probably take over the company some day. What sort of career do you see in Ralph's future? Why do you think he would pick it?

I can see him going into medical research, - the use of technology in medicine/surgery and also tech to improve the lives of people with long term conditions and that kind of thing.

He will also make some important discoveries in the field of astronomy and space flight in his spare time.

I have a career planned for him at the end of my series, but the "why would he choose it" relates to the series so I'll leave that out of it for now.

From a show canon sense, and from a "no fanfic spoilers" sense, I agree that medical research would make a lot of sense for him. I could also see him as a safety inspector since so many of Scorpions emergency heroics basically became necessary due to someone's faulty setup.

I like the safety inspector idea. After his experiences with Scorpion, he certainly knows something about how things can go wrong.

I also like the idea of him making discoveries in Astronomy in his spare time. I can definitely see Ralph spending his evenings in the observatory that he builds in his back yard.

I'm also on the side of medical research. After seeing Walter's and Sly's pain at Megan's death, I have no doubt that Ralph will be drawn to doing something to prevent that sort of pain for others. It will be hard for him to understand why the sum total of human intelligence has not been able to cure so many diseases, so he'll devote himself to correcting that.

Riley engaged in a conversaton with a few fans on Twitter. He mentioned Ralph's story arc was planned for 6 years, with him eventually becoming a full member of Scorpion. He also mentioned how terrible the ending was! It's very kind of him to chat with fans and answer questions like that.
