I just watched the second episode, and it was even better than the first. I thought Colin's accent was better in that one, I didn't notice anything, so clearly he was getting into the swing of it by then.

I'm loving the slow build up and all the stuff at home and the publicity. It seems very well written.

They didn't exactly explain Trudy's motivations for going back with Gordo, but for now eventhough there is tension things are going better than perhaps you'd expect. She even let her guard down with him for a moment.

He's still not coming across as a jerk. If anyone is it's Al Shepard who is flirting with all these women.

John Glenn seems like a really nice guy.

Too bad the ep isn't a full hour. Since it's kinda in the 45 min range. Maybe if they had that extra 15 min we could've seen her flat-out say something like, yea, she is (legitimately) mad at him, but it doesn't mean she doesn't love him. So because she does still love him, she can't deny him taking part in something monumental and historical.

Yea, and I hope he never does reach Shepard levels of jerkiness.

And John is soooooo good at schmoozing. I can see why he becomes a politician.

Yep, Glenn became a Senator. He was Ohio senator from 1974 to 1999. It’s the reason why his name is the only one I was familiar with.

Well that's interesting. I knew three of them, Alan Shepard as the first American in space, and Gus Grissom from the Apollo programme, as well as John Glenn of course.

Definitely not. That ep is going to make me cry when they get up to it. Pretty sure I read they want to end with Armstrong on the moon.

They could go even past Armstrong, I think. Do Apollo 13, maybe even up to Apollo 17. But maybe they feel like the Ron Howard movie was a been there, done that thing.

I love the Apollo 13 film. It would be hard to do a better version of that on a TV show, though. It's actually my all time favourite film.

But you're right, it would be a shame to stop at Apollo 11, as they really didn't have much time on the moon. The later missions have far more scope and scientific interest for me.
