Good questions! I wonder too how they are going to handle this question. I do not want Kristen in this movie-I love the girl but this would not be good for her anyway. Too much baggage the media won't let go of. But this is why the PREQUEL made sense to me. If it's a sequel, it would make more sense to have Snow White in the movie and recast her. But, there again, they're losing the chemistry I and others saw between Chris and Kristen. idk-Universal seems bound and determined to make this one, so...it's their money. I wish all involved luck. They're gonna need it. 'Cause I really don't think Universal has thought this through or knows what the crap they're doing. I also agree that Emily Blunt is awesome in everything she does! |

I am not a fan of recasts, so perhaps it's better if they move away with a fresh angle, I don't know. Personally I wasn't that sold on the romance in the first movie, so perhaps focusing more on the action and the characters' backstories could give it some extra spark.
I agree that I don't see the studio really knowing what they are doing with this one. The first instalment wasn't even successful enough to justify a continuation of the series according to many cinema experts, and the fairytale mania seems to have cooled down. Fingers crossed things go for the best, mostly for the sake of the cast. At least they were quick in picking a new director: Quote:

I'm afraid no matter what they do, it's gonna be weird.
I did love the character of the Huntsman and Chris did an excellent job with it but...once again, there are script problems and a new director who doesn't really have any experience at all. The first movie cost 170 million. It made about 400 million. It probably did make money with dvd sales and some merchandising. They made jewelry, clothing, and a calendar that I know of. Anyway, the studio was actually surprised it made that much money. Everybody, but me, fainted when it made 56 million opening weekend. There really wasn't much promo, until the last min. when Universal did that 3-day press tour and had the premiere in London. There was no premiere scheduled for the US until the last minute again and they called it a "screening" I honestly think Universal thought this movie would tank. But, a funny thing happened. People actually liked it and some, like me, loved it! Don't know if I said this before, but the music in the first one was just beautiful! And the main theme from Florence and the Machine was a great song and perfect for this movie! The soundtrack should have been nominated for an Oscar too! 'Snow White and the Huntsman' prequel will have fewer dwarves
Forget seven—or eight—dwarves. The follow-up film to Snow White and the Huntsman, will reportedly only have two. According to Deadline, The Huntsman will only feature two dwarves—the original movie featured eight. Nick Frost, Toby Jones, and Eddie Marsan, all of whom played dwarves in the first film, will not be returning to their roles, Deadline reported. Snow White and the Huntsman was criticized for not casting little people in the film, and instead digitally altering average-height actors. The new film is set to star Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth in their roles from the first film, a prequel about their relationship before Snow White entered the picture. Earlier this month it was revealed that Frank Darabont will no longer be directing the film, which is due for release in 2016. Universal did not immediately respond to EW‘s request for comment. I'm so confused! But I stay that way!
In order to get this out in theaters by April 2016, they're gonna have to start filming by March/April of this year! So, we should hear more very soon or see Chris on-set. I wonder if Charlize or Chris have said anything recently about this? Anybody know? |
