Well, I don't know. We all reach a point in life where we just say "eff it" and go for it. Maybe after years of seeing the king whore around with every tramp in Europe, she just decided that it was time to have some fun of her own.

Then again, knowing our queen as we know her, she's probably up to something.

I don't think she'd be that cavalier. It has to be part of a bigger plan. Like you said, she's up to something.

Is our Catherine capable of sleeping with someone as part of a plan she concocted? We've never seen that part of her. The affair with Richard happened years in the past when she was in a bad way, depressed by Henry's affair with Diane and her inability to give him a child. Is this guy a one night stand?

BTW, I just went over to the CW site and they have a preview video of Catherine meeting a Scottish guy. He thinks that she's the queen's lady in waiting and starts flirting with her. So maybe it IS a one night stand. Good for her!!!

TBH I saw a bit of calculation when she slept with Henry too. Before, she seems to think it over before letting down her hair, and after-- well, see how she's like "Then don't" when he tells her he doesn't want to kill her. He's being genuinely tender, she's the one holding her cards close to her chest.
So yeah she is capable of anything. But we just saw 117 and we know that for sure now.

Well, as it turns out, she did have a one night stand with the Scottish guy (Liam). Although, it wasn't part of any plan. The one who concocted a plan turned out to be Mary.

I was hoping to see more of Liam when he returned to the court at some future date. Catherine seemed open and vulnerable with him. It was sweet. I guess the writers had other ideas......
