Yes, they really did. They could have been so happy. I know we've said it a million times, but Ade and Will's chemistry was off the charts and it's such a shame we didn't get to see more of it.

It's a shame. I feel like if Mary had given him more of a chance and they had communicated better in the beginning than things could have been different

I guess I didn't see what you all saw. I thought they had a little potential early on, but most of the time, I just didn't like him.

I thought Darnley was a really fun, entertaining and interesting character to watch, and I really loved Will and Ade's chemistry. I guess I always sympathized with him and understood where he was coming from. He certainly made mistakes, but so did Mary. If she had been able to get past his indiscretion with Keira, and if he had been able to get past her role in Keira's death... maybe they could have been happy - or least found a way to work together as a team. And then there was the fact that his behavior at the end was likely being shaped by his illness. There were just too many obstacles in their way.

I just found really charismatic and I felt in the beginning he really did want to communicate with Mary and try. I did feel Mary should have tried to get past it she had affair as well in s2. They were both in the wrong
If he did have mental illness toward the end then he should have gotten help but we are in the wrong time period

Agreed. I understand that she was hurt, but the way she reacted to the situation just came off hypocritical. Considering that she too had cheated and betrayed the man she loved, she should have been more willing to forgive - as she was forgiven. Darnley was lied to by his own mother and led to believe the love of his life had rejected him. Then Keira came back into his life. What would Mary have done if Francis had miraculously come back to her? I just think she could have tried to be more understanding and see things from Darnley's point of view. Like you said, they were both in the wrong.

It's a real shame that Mary was not able to get Darnley the help and treatment he needed.
