Call me crazy, but I'm not too concerned about the fates of Delphine and Cosima in S3. The way Delphine's story arc developed, the chance to kill her was in the finale (as someone else mentioned here), but they instead put her on a plane to Germany. The fact that they spared her but separated Cophine (without breaking them up--tip of my hat to the writers there) just sets up some drama for next season. They flat out had Dream Delphine say, "I will never leave you," so they practically spelled out a reunion at some point.
As for Delphine not saying goodbye to Cosima, I was under the impression that with the security guard in the elevator, Delphine was not free to move about DYAD as soon as Rachel told her that "effective immediately" she would not work with clones. I assumed she was escorted out (and possibly to the plane itself). Despite my relative lack of concern for Cophine in S3, I was very disappointed that they weren't given a decent love scene (or even a good makeout session), and I wish they could have had some sort of reconnection after Cosima's collapse. That felt very wrong, narrative-wise. |

But all of these should be EXTRA stuff, something added, that when we rewatch the episode, we can find this and say "oh, and also can you see that Cosima has Delphine as Eskimo Pie?" but should be focused on some serious action about them. But making it as a only thing, the main thing, it is just not enough I think it is just a ****ing bad idea, sorry creators of OB. I think these few seconds are actually enough to sustain me for 10 months and Delphine wasn't even there. It wasn't even real. But that doesn't even matter because holy **** this finale while giving us no real interaction underlined at least the love both of them feel for each other in the smallest of moments. Delphine had pretty amazing lines to Rachel, lbr, and Cosima is practically having a Rose/Jack titanic level experience. It doesn't get much more OTP than that. __________________

That gifset is so unfair.
God, I am just so emotional after 210, seriously. Like I keep tearing up every time I think about how Cophine ended the season. It's not even like they broke up or one of them died or anything. It's just they struggled this whole time to stay together and then Rachel had to come in and ruin everything. And for what? Because Rachel is a total bitch to them for no reason. There was no reason she couldn't have at least let Delphine say goodbye. Rachel is just cruel for cruelty's sake. And then the way Cosima is so upset before she gets Delphine's email ... you can see her on her bed in the background, covering her face. I hate it and yet I love it because the angst is so, so good. I was just talking to people on Twitter about this. I stan so hard for Paily on PLL and I have loved them sfm for 4 years/5 seasons. But man, Cophine. COPHINE. There's just something so epic and magical about them. They feel so mature and realistic and deeply emotional to me. And it never feels like they go back on character development for the sake of drama, it never feels like they do cheap things for the sake of contrived drama. It's just two real, flawed people in love, trying so hard to make things work. Obstacle after obstacle, they keep on loving each other. This is what real love is like. Real love is hard work. Real love is sacrifice. And that's what Cophine are all about. Their scenes touch me way down deep. Sure, Paily is an amazing couple with an amazing story and all of that. But Cophine is just on another level. What I feel for Paily is like, "Aw, yes, this resonates with the teenager I once was." What I feel for Cophine is more, "This is the kind of love I want to have." And that is so important.
Speaking of important stuff: Quote:
