Okay, so a flashback to the good old days. This is a quote from the latest Clone Cast that was posted on Tumblr:

“The last day we shot in season 1, we shot like, a solid 17 hours, I think that day, at least. Maybe 18?…and one of the last scenes, or like, one of the last shots we were getting was of Delphine and Cosima discovering the patent…and they were so tired! I think Evelyne had the flu; like, in between [takes] she was lying down. And they could not get the science jargon, like, they couldn’t get the science words out and it was so funny. I'll never quite view those scenes the same way again, knowing that Evelyne was about to keel over from the flu. What cracked me up is that TMas famously had the flu during her kissing and fight scenes with Evelyne in 108 and 109, so I wonder where poor EBro caught her virus? She paid for that tongue kiss! (Though, in actuality, that was probably a couple of weeks earlier. Still, the flu was obviously going around the set.)

Sigh. I miss my sweet science girlfriends.

This fanfic is 100% the best Delphine S4 fanfic out there. It has killed me. All the trigger warnings, but it is definitely worth your time.

I love the imagery this conjures up. So sweet. Also the idea that Evelyne had the flu when they filmed 1x10 is hilarious cause hell if I look anywhere near that good when I'm sick.

They found out that Krystal saw her get shot and that she was still alive when someone took her. Beyond that they don't know for sure.

Question for everybody who feels this way: What if everything goes the way we might hope? Cosima and Delphine have a glorious reunion at the end of this season, and then in S5 Delphine is totally involved (as much as Ebro's schedule permits) as Cosima's lover and partner in science, accepted as a member of Clone Club, an important player in protecting the Leda clones, etc. As the series ends, it becomes clear that Cos and Delphine are endgame and that was the plan all along (GM and JF would no doubt gloat endlessly about this). Seasons 3 and 4 were intended as a major bump in the road because it would have been too easy if their relationship were perfect from the end of S1 on, but ultimately the challenges were meant to help them realize they are soulmates and make their connection even stronger.

Would their journey still be irredeemably tainted? Or with hindsight if there is a beautiful outcome do you think you could integrate and accept what's happened?

Personally I'm not sure what I would think. I can accept that they needed to introduce some narrative complications into Cosima and Delphine's relationship; a perfect relationship being perfect for seasons on end is uninteresting. But I think I'll always think that aspects of it were poorly done, especially the breakup in 3x01 and the whole existence of Shay.

I'm also not as knowledgable about or affected by the lesbian death trope as many posters here (although I've certainly learned a lot about it since D was shot last year!), but I'm not sure the way the showrunners played with that in interviews and commentary was OK, even if it turns out they were just trying to pull the wool over our eyes to preserve their mystery/cliffhanger.

The thing is, they haven't had it easy at all from the very beginning - they were happy maybe for five minutes in both season 1 and 2 and there always was the cloud of mistrust hang over their relationship. One thing is sure, love triangles are for teen shows or were trendy years ago. Now I am an adult and I need something more... deep? Idea of introducing shay gives me second hand embarassment. What is it - a mind-opening sifi show or a ****ing soap opera? What they've done to Delphine at the end of season 3 is shameful, but doesn't taint their story for me, shay does
