Yeah they were a couple of small roles in a few episodes
 . The new role may be too large for him to go back or want to go back to do both that role & his previous one on SVU. Would be cool if he does do both though __________________

True. Which is nice & good
Being on the same channel would make it easier I'd think. He possibly has a contract with that channel (now, probably not before) so he'd be able to appear on other shows on it. Not sure if things work like that in the US though. Even since the new show would be more important & a larger role I don't think he'd turn down a spot on SVU unless he didn't have the time __________________
