I don't think in my mind those two can really be compared.

This is definitely my favourite Thor movie. It's so much more in the GOTG style that I adore so much.

Like which moments? I'm only asking because I thought the same about GOTG2 and can immediately name those moments that frustrated me because they made it into a joke but none stand out too much for me atm for Thor.

The ending is probably the biggest example. Asgard explodes, Thor and his people have literally just lost their entire home... and Korg immediately drops a punchline about how the foundations are gone, guess y'all can't rebuild after all, LOL! You're all homeless refugees now! Hahaha!

GotGV2 and IW had enough restraint to deliver on their most poignant moments, instead of undercutting even those with a gag.

I think the one that bothered me in GOTG Vol.2 is in the woods where it's this moment between Peter and his father, and then immediately he has to take a wizz... which why was that necessary.

I do see what you mean. They could've taken that a lot more serious, I'm glad that at least in IW they did.

I really appreciated the heart-to-heart chat Thor had with Rocket in IW. He's still being funny, but you can see from his teary eyes and fake smile that it's a coping mechanism to deal with all the grief he's suffering.

I love Ragnorak and it is the best Thor film IMO but I also agree the funny nature of the movie did take away some serious moments. I also still hate how they killed off the Warriors 3 like it was no big deal, and Thor never acknowledged their deaths if he even knows.

It was a wonderful moment. and I kind of love how it was with Rocket, it shows that he as well is more than just a comic relief character.

Oh yeah, that I really wasn't a fan of. It's one of the only major gripes I have with this movie. They were on screen for 30 seconds max. and gone....

And many people cared about it and were disappointed they were brought back to be killed off. I've been listening to marvel podcasts a lot and no one wasn't angry by it. These are Thor's friends and poof, gone.

In both previous movies the Warriors Three disobeyed their king to help Thor. After all the selflessness and unwavering loyalty they showed, they deserved better than to be batted aside in two seconds like nobodies.
