I think his incontravertible evidence has to be something like a real alibi, that Rebecca doesn't know about, or something about the relationship with Derek, like he was an undercover agent, IDK, something significant about Derek anyway, or Rebecca. Alec seems completely assured that he will get off. And so did Theresa after she heard his story. And Theresa is smart. Maybe it had something to do with the tire iron. One of the cast commented on that last season - that it was some sort of clue. Something about when Thayer changed the tire on the way back from the reservation with Sutton, and she didn't know what a tire iron was? Anyway, hopefully Theresa has it under control?

Yes, I think Alec had respect for her at the Ethan arraignment, even though he dropped the murder charge for another reason, Theresa was suspicious, and Alec could tell. She also has a respect for his ruthlessness.

I don't know if she can handle him exactly, but she is honest, and will work for him, without falling into any traps he may set. She won't cheat, or become beholden, or subject to blackmail. He wants her to represent him, so she can always remove herself if he lies to her. And like you said, she is smart, so she may figure out a lot more of his secrets than he would like, but that could also be why he wants her. Attorney client privilege, she can't reveal anything she discovers. like the twin secret?

I wonder how much we will find out about Alec through this interaction. ANd I wonder how she is going to deal with Dan during this time... Any conflict there? She was helping him before to investigate the murder and clear Ethan, so maybe they can still work together somewhat. WIthout breaking any rules?

Oh, this is really great! Theresa and Dan are still working together. Sharing information, chasing suspects, and trusting each other. I'm sure neither will go betond the line, but they will both work for the truth! Now I'm not sure if Alec is innocent or just playing them!
