We all have that syndrome.

I think people read way too much into things first of all. And then they try to make themselves appear to be highly intelligent.

I honestly think the people who are saying this is Stockholm Syndrome first of all haven't actually watched Skin Deep. Or they just don't understand what Stockholm Syndrome even is supposed to be. If anyone is in a position of power in that relationship? It's Belle, LOL.

Um. Three weeks.

Every once in a while Adam says the right thing.

I wonder if the people complaining about SS know what "facile" means?

Thanks for the new thread.

While I haven't caught up on the old thread, I think it's safe to say that if Belle, sweetest person on the planet, describes Gaston as "superficial," then he was SUPER superficial. No, they probably were not suited.

(I kind of doubt Rumple let that rose die, though.)

Edit: Yes, people who use the SS argument are blatantly pseudo-intellectual. The last one I saw bragged how "thoroughly educated" she was about it by giving a link to Wikipedia or some other pop site. I was able to quote every line of the definition and show how it DIDN'T apply to Rumbelle (except for the basic one of two people liking each other). She'd read the definition but hadn't bothered to understand it.

If anything, Rumple has Lima Syndrome--but that seems like a strange "disorder" to me anyway. Kidnappers recognizing that their hostages are people and treating them kindly or releasing them? That's not a disorder; it's human decency.

ooh me me I know what facile meant..

DO I get a star?

It astonishes me when people place disorders they dont really know what they are and use the simplest term. This is just a tv show, not to be taken so seriously anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gaston turns up again some day. He's a fairly iconic modern Disney villain.

Believe me, it pained me to even type it.

I can see it now. Gaston will be bitter and obsessed and lock Belle in a room dark under the ground of SB that no one ever knew was there before.

Here's the Lima Syndrome blurb from TV Tropes:

You are MUCH smarter than the typical bottom-dweller throwing out a lazy Stockholm Syndrome accusation.

That does seem to be the case these days.

Exactly. Just like "Rumple is a misogynist."
