I think we all kind of fear that at the moment. that GZ will always pop back up. And part of me thinks the writers need to do a storyline where WZ break up and GZ date briefly so that Zoe can see for herself how her and George really aren't that great together. Because I think Zoe is the type of person who isn't actually very insightful about her own personal life. She's kind of obtuse. And she will literally have to be with George to see that she doesn't want to be with George, and that it was actually Wade she wants to be with.

This absolutely. She and Wade are going to have to break up. I always expected that. And at this point I'm hoping it is Wade who is tired of her crap. She will have to be with George to realize that he is real and not the fantasy she has in her head. And if that is what she wants fine. But right now she is avoiding being with George when there isn't any reason to avoid it. She wants to keep that fantasy alive, but yet continue to have something real with Wade. The problem is Wade is never going to be able to live up to the fantasy she has in her head so she is always going to be disappointed until she realizes that Wade is so much better than her fantasy.

And I hope that when Zoe and Wade break up that Wade gets a chance at another love interest only because so far he has only had Zoe. He needs to learn if she is really all that for him. And he really needs to have someone who will appreciate him and isn't the Joelle's that he normally dates.

It was so interesting following all the posts today. Such great discussion. I'm so glad I have this thread so I can vent (or bask in the glory of Z/W... depending on the week).

There as a definite shift throughout the day. I seems like the anger's cooling off a bit. I'm still fairly optimistic that they're at least on the right track. I'm not happy with how Zoe acted, obviously, but I still feel pretty good about things in general. The Z/W scenes last night were so fantastic. Really, if they ever are an official couple, I think it will be even better than I imagined!

I loved the video that Aenilen posted (thanks for posting it!). They bring up some interesting points about Wade's feelings. We know he's crazy about Zoe, but I agree with them when they say "He's taking it for what it is right now." This reminds me of the finale and the "There's something here". He wasn't asking for a serious relationship then. He just felt that chemistry and wanted to explore something. I think he wants more than a casual relationship, or he's at least headed in that direction. However, I'm not sure Zoe realizes this yet. She told him she wasn't asking him to be her boyfriend--I think that was mainly because she didn't want to scare him off. He's not the commitment type. It's so fun to watch Wade change in that regard. Yes, it sucks seeing how Zoe's using him as a placeholder right now, but I really think that will change. Her feelings have already come so far since last season.

I'd much rather see the slow, developing relationship than the one that punches you in the face every now and then. The Z/G thing just doesn't work. Not from a plot standpoint or from a chemistry standpoint. The thing I'm struggling with most today isn't my hatred for Zoe, but my disbelief that people could actually want Z with G. I don't get it. I respect that everyone has an opinion, but last night pushed me further in the "anti-GZ" direction.

I think George needs someone like Lemon who cares a lot about his job, his clothes and stuff. And Zoe is more independent and insecure at the same time, so she also needs someone that cares about her but without hold her a lot like Wade does.

I haven't watched the podcast yet. Still making my way through the episode. And Wade dumping George in the lake was one of the best things ever.

But back to the comments. I do agree that Wade is a live in the moment kind of person. That is what I got the most from his happiness speech to Zoe. So for him he isn't planning anything with Zoe he is happy now. Of course that is gradually changing the longer he is actually with her. He is clearly wanting more. And I do agree that Zoe still hasn't quite woken up and realized that Wade isn't this caveman. I felt last week that she was trying to be casual mostly because that is what she thought Wade wanted. It clearly wasn't what she wanted. So she decided to try to find a way to compromise so she'd at least make sure he was only with her but in a way that didn't feel like she was putting any pressure on him. Unfortunately she hasn't bothered to talk to him because he quite clearly is taking that whole monogamous thing very seriously.

I still think that she hasn't realized that she can have the kind of relationship that she wants with Wade. She is also afraid to ask him or talk to him about it. From their exchanges it is clear they are heading that way even without the label. I also think that she might be afraid to admit to herself that she likes him in that way because then that will mean that she can't continue to remain casual with him. And she clearly wants to be with Wade. Anyway you cut it and no matter what crap comes out of her mouth her actions speak so much louder than her words.

I also think she is having a hard time letting go of that fantasy she built up with George. Everything was still dream, unreal, fantasy. She wanted to know if in his dream they were happy. I mean really? She doesn't know that they would. So that already shows that she is doubting the fantasy that is George. Before she KNEW that they'd be great. The cracks are already showing.

I just caught onto a little game that George and Zoe are playing. They are trying to see who can not choose the other the most all the while claiming that they are soul mates and want to be together. So far Zoe is ahead 3:2.

That's an interesting take on it. I like that. Better than my thinking of basically what a horrible person she was in that scene. To both Wade(the almost cheating) and to George(the almost taking advantage of his mental state because she's too gutless to do anything while he's in control of all of his faculties). If she had kissed him in that state, I would have been done with her. There would be no coming back from that. Not just for her and Wade but for the character. She would have been dead to me and it isn't even about Wade. It's about what kind of person actually allows that to happen or almost happen when the other person isn't even in the right frame of mind? It's like taking advantage of someone who is drunk or on drugs. It speaks to a total lack of character and morals and even human decency.

Yep. That's what I think, too. He's still "Wade". There's no doubt that she has genuine feelings for him. She even said that. But I still think she doubts her future with him. Plus she doesn't know if Wade's ready to settle into a real relationship (and even though we know how he feels, he still hasn't told Zoe he wants to be more than casual). I think that's why I was quick to forgive Zoe this week, although I was maybe too quick to forgive her.

I liked that they showed Wade struggling with the monogamy thing, because it was clear that he was really trying for Zoe. That's why Zoe's actions looked so terrible. My biggest fear with this show was that they'd turn Wade into a jerk, maybe in a last ditch attempt to get everyone to board the Z/G train. I'm just so relieved that hasn't happened.

Yeah, it is a bit twisted if you think about it. Thing is, she would've kissed him if Wade hadn't shown up. It really was a terrible scene (until Wade pushed George into the lake).
