The gif set definitely really shows just how much it scared him that he forgot everything that happened. But I definitely think it was the start of realizing he needed to change his ways. Especially after Lavon had just got finished saying that it happens all the time.

That episode was a real turning point episode for Wade too. Lavon really made him aware that it wasn't an uncommon occurrence.
