Friends - Board (Re)Customization

Hi everyone ,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the design seeds website. As we want every board to have their own unique look it is preferable that you do not link to the customisations of other boards as suggested colour schemes.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us .

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Mel, Chelle, or Rora a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes approximately two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have finished making the graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

Some palettes that caught my eye...

https://www.design-seeds.com/categor...er/wanderlust/ - i'm more drawn to the purples of this one. though the light orange (2nd) is nice.
https://www.design-seeds.com/category/slow-lifestyle/ - bluish green with a pink accent. however, it may sound better than it'd turn out.
https://www.design-seeds.com/category/seasons/summer/ - the first three colors as well as the bluish green on the bottom. they could probably work together nicely.
https://www.design-seeds.com/categor...ature/heavens/ - the 1st/5th or 4th/5th seem like they'd compliment each other well. one being somewhat darker/and the other lighter. the last one could maybe work as an accent but i'm not so sure..

That one would probably be the last resort one.

I don't really have a preference as long as they look good. Not sure the ones with a red background would be easy to use.

It doesn't really have to be just one picture for all characters. In fact, we prefer using individual shots, so we can give the graphic a unique look.

Don't worry about the backgrounds in the pics as we can remove any background so red background pics are fine

I'm presuming you want to see them all from the one season? Which would mean it looks like you'd prefer earlier seasons? Or do you not mind if they're pics of them in different seasons?

For your colour schemes - on this link which colour scheme are you actually talking about as there's a few on that page? Same with this link? I don't know if you're looking at multiple colour schemes or just one - it'd be guess work for the team to try follow the instructions to work out which colours you mean

Are there certain characters you'd like to see next to each other? I know its impossible to represent all relationships/friendships on the show. I presume Monica/Chandler & Ross/Rachel should be represented. But would you prefer Ross & Monica next to each other? Or Monica & Rachel? Just for example... Or do you not care, just so long as the two main ships are together?

The board getting a recustomization is pretty cool!

I don't really have the time to read everything you posted right now or to go look for pics but I could take the time to this weekend

But I think I can already say I have a little preference to use older seasons pics

(Especially since we currently have an early seasons one) But I still need to look through most of their shoot to give my opinion

And think about what kind of colours I'd like too!

And I hope all the posters here are going to participate to talk about what they would like the board to look like

The top one of the pages I linked are the ones I was looking at.

Interchanging the pics is fine by me. If that's what everyone agrees on.

Maybe instead of going a ship route since they can't all be used, going the overall friend route would work better? For example...

Ross/Chandler/Joey/Phoebe/Monica/Rachel

I noticed that in earlier seasons as well. Not sure why they took pictures of everyone else in front of the same background and then just left him out.

It's also possible that the website didn't find some pics of him. But it is strange.

. Looks like that website just doesn't seem to have them since these two pics look like they match the others from S10 - Joey 1 Joey 2

I understand that you still need to have the chance to look through things & make a decision on what you'd like to see here but the team have been a little confused by this statement. Do you mean you have a preference for using pictures from the later seasons because you currently have an early season picture? As that's how I've interpreted it but others on the team have interpreted it as meaning you have a preference for older pictures - meaning earlier seasons as those pictures are older.

^Yes, sorry I've been busier than I thought I would be this weekend! I'm still posting from my phone instead of my computer right now so that's not the best to look through pics and stuff!

But to answer your question, I did mean I would prefer later seasons pics

I know I do especially like their season 10 looks and promo pics

But others seasons pics could work too, I'm going to take the time to look through things very soon!

I have to ask though, do we have a short timeline to give our ideas? I know the sooner the better, but I'll finally have some real time off from work in a few days, being on vacation (

) so my mind we'll be free to think about the new look of my fave board
