Not now I don't but it was just a minor role in the ep. He was someone the detectives were talking to - a doctor I think?

It took awhile, but the Vance character finally grew on me. He's very complex. In a way, he reminds me of Granger. You know he was to play politics and all, but in the end he stands behind his people no matter what. Some of his best moments has been when he's defended them from outside threats. I especially loved... and I remember this because I've seen these episodes like a dozen times...no joke... when That Mexican Ambassador, dude... Sr. Rivera... subtly threatened Abby... telling her he didn't want to keep her, that the roads were dangerous at night. Gibbs got in his face. Rivera complained to Vance who was there. Vance said get him out of here because he gets hurt. Rivera: By who? Vance: By ME? It was great. Sorry... was that too long winded? It's one of my favorite scenes ever.

I completely agree with all you said but this is what jumped out at me. I also agree he's like Granger in that way. Vance has their backs, no matter what, while also being there to do his job & keep them in line which is wonderful to see

has he been seen this season I feel between his absence & things I've seen that he may be going out?

That's pretty cool that he'll get to do it. Guess that shows how much the cast cares about the real NCIS - I'm sure that's one more thing keeping him from appearing on NCIS though
